Kiribati Fish Ltd was founded on December 10, 2010 and is a joint venture between the Government of Kiribati, Golden Ocean Fish of Fiji and Shanghai Deep Sea fishing of China.

The partnership’s objective is to invest and further develop Kiribati’s fishing resources whilst creating economic growth and employment for the people of Kiribati.

Kiribati Fish Ltd’s core business is tuna fishing, artisanal fisheries and processing of seafood products for the export market.

The construction of a fish processing facility that cost more than USD 8 million was completed in September 2012 on the capital island of Tarawa.

More than 200 hundred people are employed at this facility.
