Kiribati Fish Ltd is located in the island nation of Kiribati (KIRR-i-bas) in the central tropical Pacific Ocean. Kiribati is an independent republic and a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

It is part of the division of the Pacific islands that is known as Micronesia and is one of the world’s least developed countries.

Kiribati has an estimated population of 100,000 and an estimated unemployment rate of 80%. Employment is found in the government sector or in fishing where a portion of their catch is sold locally.

Kiribati has the largest Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the South Pacific and fishing is its major natural resource. Until recently, this vast resource has benefited fishing vessels primarily from Asia, Europe, and the United States.

This venture has created an environment where the nation of Kiribati can develop and benefit from their own natural fishing resources in a more equitable and sustainable fashion. These resources can now be used more effectively to improve the quality of life for all the peoples of Kiribati.
